Five Lodges meet at the Masonic Hall in Newmarket - Etheldreda Lodge (2107) is the oldest Lodge that meets at Newmarket Masonic Centre, their warrant being granted by the Prince of Wales (Grand Master) in 1885 The Lodge is actually older than the building it meets in. It was founded during a ceremony at the Jockey Club Rooms, and early meetings were held at the White Hart Hotel on the High Street. Etheldreda Lodge was formed by existing Masons living in and around Newmarket who found that travelling into Cambridge and back by horse and cart was too time-consuming. The Lodge is named after St Etheldreda, who was born in nearby Exning in A.D. 636. Granta Lodge(6179) was formed in 1945. St.Wendred Lodge (8374) Logistica Lodge (9804) formed in 2005 United Services Lodge (10010) formed in 2021 Two Chapters meet there also - St Etheldreda (2107)and Cambridgeshire Meridian (8374)
Plans were submitted and approved 3rd July 1923 for L.E.Cole (Builders) of Old Station Road to build the new Hall for the Masonic Lodge,
which opened in 1924. It is virtually a single storey extension to Godolphin House.
